To highlight the impact of afterschool programs at the Boys & Girls Club of Muncie, the community is invited to the Great Futures Recognition Luncheon. To be hosted at the Boys & Girls Club, the lunch event will include recognition of local youth, volunteers and supporters of the organization.
During the month of November, Family Dollar Stores will help raise money for the Boys & Girls Club of Muncie through its “Open the Door for America’s Kids” initiative. Beginning Nov. 1, Family Dollar customers in Muncie can make a monetary contribution at checkout to be donated to the Boys & Girls Club of Muncie this holiday season.
To provide a fun and safe alternative to knocking on doors, the Boys & Girls Club, in partnership with Buley Center, Ross Center, and Motivate Our Minds, is hosting Trunk or Treat. Families, businesses, groups and student organizations are invited to distribute candy and goodies during the event. Creativity is encouraged as there will be contests for “Best Trunk” and other awards.
Boys & Girls Club of Muncie has kicked off its annual “It Just Takes One” campaign. The campaign raises money for the Club’s after-school programs and services for youth, grades K-12, living in Delaware County. The campaign seeks donations primarily from individuals and businesses.
The annual campaign coincides with the Great Futures Campaign to mobilize the community in support of kids and empower today’s youth to achieve great futures. Through the Great Futures Campaign, we seek to ensure that every child and teen has access to a safe place after school and during the summer where they can build the knowledge, skills and behaviors to put them on the path for success. October is Bullying Prevention Awareness Month
The Boys & Girls Club of Muncie has a zero tolerance policy on bullying. During the month of October we will work to educate our members, families, volunteers and the community about bullying and steps to take to prevent and discourage it.
Bullying is unwanted, aggressive behavior among school aged children that involves a real or perceived power imbalance. The behavior is repeated, or has the potential to be repeated, over time. Both kids who are bullied and who bully others may have serious, lasting problems. Read More
