The coronavirus (COVID-19) is creating a lot of attention globally.  We are closely monitoring the evolving coronavirus situation.  The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) have been updating the country on the status, and what steps should be taken moving forward.  There is nothing more important to us than the health and safety of our kids, staff, volunteers, and families.

We will continue to consult with the Delaware County Health Department and the Indiana State Department of Health to follow their recommendations, as well as Muncie Community Schools.  In the event the schools would be closed for an extended period of time, we will consult with health experts, and communicate with you, our families. Our wish is to stay open as long as it is safe for all to do so, we will only close to protect the health and safety of all our families, and community. I am working with a couple of the larger employers in town, and other childcare agencies in the city to do whatever it takes to serve our families during this time.

While a new type of illness can be scary, we can protect our kids, families, and the broader community by using simple everyday actions that protect people from other types of respiratory viruses.  Our staff is working carefully to encourage these simple and effective habits of frequent handwashing, covering every cough or sneeze, and cleaning classroom tables/surfaces frequently.  Hand sanitizer stations are also mounted in each classroom and public areas of the Clubs, in the event that soap and water are not immediately available.

We appreciate your attention to this matter.

Sincerely,

Jason Newman
