Today we opened the door and you took the tour!

We had nearly 50 community members in attendance, including Club Kid of the Year, Allie McCroy,  and guest speaker and Old National Bank’s Regional President, Jeffery Howe.

Tours were provided by Club Kids.

Dr. Terry Bailey read Mayor Dennis Tyler’s proclamation stating, “March 28 – April 1 shall be known as Boys & Girls Club Week.”
Allie McCroy reminisced about how the Indiana Kids program changed his perspective, “We worked everyday on my reading and math and we also had long talks about having a positive and caring attitude.”
Jeff Howe rounded out the evening’s speakers by talking about the Club’s impact on him while his father’s time in the Vietnam War, “The Club gave me fatherly support when I needed it. It gave me a positive, caring environment when I needed it most. “

Today we announced our Great Futures Annual Campaign. The campaign raises money for our after-school programs and services for youth, grades K-12, living in Deleware County. This year’s campaign goal is to raise $70,000.
Tomorrow our BGC Week will end with us opening the door to teens. From 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. we will have an Open Gym and Mentoring specifically for our teenagers as we are closed for regularly scheduled programs. We will also be open from 8 p.m. – 8 a.m. for our spring Lock-In.
